Christian Spielmann is a freelance conductor and choral singer. He has studied conducting with Denise Ham (Greenwich School of Music), Gregory Rose (Trinity College of Music) and Gerd Müller-Lorenz (Conservatory Lübeck).

Christian has worked with choirs in Germany and the UK and has recently founded the Avon Chamber Choir, a small Bristol-based chamber choir, which he conducts alongside Esther Bersweden. 

Together with conductor and composer Andrew Campling, Christian has led the Thames Chamber Choir in London, where he is now guest conductor. 

Christian primarily conducts a cappella choral repertoire from renaissance to contemporary, but he also works with orchestras. He has a strong interest in artistic collaborations with artists from other disciplines and has collaborated with dancers and visual artists. 

Christian is a passionate educator and  gives vocal coaching. He also holds a PhD in Economics and teaches  at the School of Economics at the University of Bristol.
